The Airport Transit System

ATS Picture What is the ATS?
The ATS is a fast, frquent and convenient "people-mover" transit system. It speeds passenger connections between the airport's domestic and inter- national terminals, and also provides swift transport to the airport's Long- Term Parking Facility. Passengers will be treated to some spectacular views of the airfield as they travel on the new system.

How does it work?
The ATS is a driverless, fully-automated on-airport transit system that spans 2.7 miles of airport property. The 13 rubber-tired vehicles are fully automated, and they operate by electrical power over an elevated guide- way. Each of the five stations has sliding doors that open automatically when the ATS arrives. As you await the arrival of the ATS, a chime will sound, indicating that a train is about to arrive. Inside the train, each station stop is announced via an intercom system. Trains consist of up to three cars.

Where are the Stations?
Domestic Terminals: You will find escalators and elevatior in the center of each terminal just across from the ticket counters.

International Terminal: The ATS station is located on the mezzanine level between the departure and arrival area. Escalators and elevators are available to bring passengers to either level.

Long-Term Parking Facility: The ATS line ends in Long-Term Parking Lot E. This station is also equipped with escalators and elevators. Shuttle bus service connects passengers with the ATS.

Capacity:
The ATS is capable of handling 2,400 passengers per hour. Each car carries 57 passengers and their luggage.
